Window Light Photography at Home

Updated: Jun 8, 2020

Hi friends! It's very critical situation around the globe due to Corona Virus. So we are kind of stuck at home for our own safety. We Photographers always need to practice photography regularly because there is no limit of learning & improving. However since we are not able to go out for a photo shoot, we can always try some photography with our family members. Here I will discuss about window light photography which we can do easily at home without any extra lighting equipment. I tried it at my home and those photos have come out really good.

I have used my Canon 5D Mark IV with Canon 100 mm f/2.8 Marco IS L Series Lens. I haven't used any defuser or reflector as there was no direct light coming on the face. If you have harsh light coming through your window then you can always use a white color curtain or cloth to defuse the harsh light. You can also click some creative shots using some shapes like grid or basket on the window which will reflect on the face of your subject.

I would really appreciate your feedback on this. If you have any queries, please feel free to ask me on comment box.
